Lake Resia

Lake Resia is a man made reservoir found in the South Tyrol township of Graun. It is 6 kilometers in length, and approximately 1 km. in width. When the reservoir was dammed in 1950 much of Graun and a part of Resia were flooded and destroyed. Only the Church Steeple continues to tower proudly out of the water.

Today the Lake is favourite place for fisherman. Lake Resia has also become a mekka for kitesurfers due to the perfect wind conditions. As well, in winter it is perfect for ice surfers, ice sailing and kiting.
